Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia). Unlike relaxation massage, deep tissue therapy uses slow, firm pressure to reach below the superficial muscle layer and address the underlying causes of chronic tension, pain, and restricted movement.
At Elev8 Wellness in Hamilton East, sessions are tailored to your individual needs — whether you are managing long-standing back pain, recovering from a sports injury, or dealing with the physical effects of workplace stress.
Jordan works with clients experiencing a wide range of conditions, including:
We offer deep tissue massage both at our studio and as a mobile (outcall) service:
Your first session begins with a brief consultation covering your medical history, current symptoms, and goals. This ensures the treatment is precisely targeted to your needs.
During the massage you can communicate openly about pressure levels — deep tissue work should never go beyond a comfortable intensity. Afterwards, drink plenty of water to support the body's natural recovery. Some mild soreness in treated areas for 24–48 hours is normal and a sign the deeper tissues have been effectively engaged.
Payment: Cash or bank transfer on the day. Online bookings accept Visa and Mastercard.

What is the difference between deep tissue and relaxation massage?
Relaxation massage uses lighter, flowing strokes for general stress relief. Deep tissue massage uses firmer, slower pressure to target specific problem areas in the deeper muscle layers, making it more therapeutic and corrective in nature.
